Bringing more access to tech/innovation to areas that currently lack it solves a lot of the social ails we struggle with - which is why I was pumped to moderate this panel on the topic. The event was hosted by General Assembly and 9 Dots Community Learning Center, and it focused on how organizations are closing the opportunity gap through technology. The event was a conversation with innovative LA-based organizations that are getting creative with technology education to give urban youth better opportunities.
The panel discussion highlighted the power of technology education to close access gaps, solve local problems, and to create a better Los Angeles. We explored how STEM skills empower underserved youth to strengthen their communities (and our city) and achieve their dreams.
